AFSEC
The African Electrotechnical Standardization Commission (AFSEC) was established in 2008 as a result of a collaborative effort among stakeholders to respond to the need for the harmonisation of electrotechnical standards to ensure the reliable and safe operation of the evolving pan-African power grid. AFSEC’s vision is to enhance Africa’s development and competitiveness through excellence in electrotechnical standardisation. This is achieved by encouraging and involving experts, young professionals, manufacturers, the private sector, academia, etc. in the development of standards through membership and participation in AFSEC Technical Committees.
These Technical Committee meetings provide guidance on topics such as Conformity Assessment, PV Grid Installation, Power System Automation Standards, etc. An overview of the guides is attached.
