Course Objectives:
By the end of the training, participants are able to:
→ Understand the fundamentals of measurement uncertainty and its importance.
→ Identify and quantify different sources of uncertainty.
→ Apply statistical methods to evaluate uncertainty.
→ Construct and interpret an uncertainty budget.
→ Implement uncertainty estimation in laboratory and industrial settings.

Course Structure:
The course consisted of 3 sessions of 4 hours duration each:
Session 1: Statistical concepts, measurement uncertainty fundamentals and identifying uncertainty components
Session 2: Calculation of measurement uncertainty using a bottom-up approach, examples and exercises
Session 3: Calculation of measurement uncertainty using a top-down approach, examples and exercises.
How to minimise uncertainty. How to use measurement uncertainty in statements of conformity.

Duration: 3 days – Tuesday, 13th May to Thursday, 15th May 2025.
